These tacos were delicious! They have one choice of meat and that is "bistec" (steak). As soon as you go in you can head for the order window were you can order these great $1 tacos and your beverage. You then wait for the gentlemen who are cutting and making the tacos to call on your number on your receipt, you are also given a separate ticket you can turn in to the guy next to the order window to receive the beverages you have ordered. Once they call you up, you have the choice to add cilantro and onion on your tacos. In the sitting area you can find a choice of toppings including 3 different levels of salsas. Be cautious of the spiciness of each. In all, the food and service is great. Definitely a good choice for a quick bite.

Food is good, but it's nothing to write home about. For me personally the meat was a bit greasy and the dining room was uncomfortably hot and the front room were you order was even hotter. On a Saturday night the place was super packed and the diners fight for a place to sit. The fact it's so packed is good in terms of safety, since there are so many people. We did wait about 25 min in he front room for the food.
Make sure you order everything you want, even extra drinks the first time since you'll have to make line again to order any more drinks.
Also, for some reason requesting the tacos be made without frying the tortillas is more expensive. -

Visiting Monterrey for the weekend & ended up eating at "Tacos el Primo" for dinner. Even though we waited for 45 mins it was totally worth it. We were told the place was that packed, because of the holidays, but it didn't matter as the food was delicious. We had "tacos de bistec" and watching them make it was definitely a show. Each order has 5 tacos & once you get your order, the salsa bar is available with different kinds of salsa and onion. There are bar stools available for people & the place is fairly clean.
